They got their way in the end and it resulted in the worst manager in our history and 7 years before we were near that level again. 11 before we won something big.

The state of the #LFC fan debate now reminds me of the Rafa wars in Dec 08-Feb 09.
Its starting to get a bit nasty, a bit personal and a lot of positions are now entrenched.
That run started with the Fulham and West Ham draws and had 8 draws in 13

Great stat from Michael.
Flo and Hugo had an instant connection, right from the community shield. Now its starting to get productive. I get Gerrard-Torres 08/09 vibes from these 2 #lfc
Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz are the first pair of substitutes in Liverpool's history to both assist each other after coming on in the same match. #LFC

As I said to @unjustlubo.bsky.social yesterday, the Amorim Aug-Dec period is going to be the dead cat bounce of United's inexorable decline.

No Ekitike, Isak or Salah but an excellent battling performance and spent all the 2nd half on the front foot. I'm declaring the crisis of Oct-Nov officially over, we've dogged our way out of it #lfc

Mac had hernia surgery in the summer and depending on the nature it can be nasty and a slow recovery - even more so if you're an elite athlete.
He's got the highest football IQ in the team (maybe the whole PL?) but the body hasn't been willing until this week

Last seasons midfield *with a fit Mac Allister* makes #LFC a completely proposition. All of a sudden Konate looks better AND Bradley looks better..2 clean sheets, only 1 big chance, 0.8xga.

Mo Salah completed more dribbles (5) vs Aston Villa than *the rest of his 25/26 season combined*.
5 more vs Real tonight, so 10 in 2 games matching the total from his previous 20 (twenty) #LFC appearances

Mohamed Salah's goal in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Aston Villa tonight was his 276th goal involvement for the Reds in the Premier League, taking him level with Wayne Rooney for the most G+A for a single club in the competition.

The #1 Question I had going into the season was whether Wirtz was good enough off the ball to be a 3rd midfielder in the PL.
14 games in and its an emphatic no. He can only be the 3rd forward with 3 actual mids behind him #lfc

Broadly agree with this
Even in 22/23 #LFC were ostensibly only replacing one starter (Mane) and struggled.
Most teams can manage 1-2 starter changes quite well.
But 3, 4, 5 starter changes will take months, not weeks. Throw in the Jota situation and its even more challenging
There is zero coincidence in the fact we won the Premier League twice after the two quietest transfer windows in its history. It’s a game of finer margins and more precise distances than people think.
