i think a necessary asshole trait to rid urself of is the assumption that you can never be wrong. once you open up the possibility that you can be wrong about literally everything, even deeply held core beliefs, then there will be so much less friction between you and those around you

Interesting how after the pandemic showed people how easily they could get by without a bunch of products and services and they started to become more independent, corporations quickly refocused on massively elevating the margins on "stuff people can't live without" like food and housing instead.
