I have no real love for MTV because growing up it had already shed the music videos from its main channel. Of course, you could still catch them on its sister channels and that’s how I discovered a little band from New Jersey called Thursday.

Okay, I did not know Mamoru Oshii made a film about him making a Tetsujin 28 stage play that didn’t actually exist. Now I gotta check this out.
To share a piece of mine from this year, it'll have to be the one on 28 1/2, Mamoru Oshii's peculiar adaptation of Tetsujin 28. It's a delightful commentary on the work of creating art and Oshii just letting everyone tear into him.

I’m dogsitting and I often like to turn on Tubi as background music. I settled on the 2008 remastered version of Ghost in the Shell. It’s a shame Manga Entertainment chose not to redub the film. I think it’s a missed opportunity not to have brought in Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Crispin Freeman.

There’s a rat hiding out in my kitchen. I’ve been trying to burn lavender scented incense because I heard they don’t particularly care for the smell. It’s seemingly been working, but I’m ready to turn in for the night and I can’t keep burning incense.

You can’t be pro-physical media for one thing while being ok with, and complicit in, the real time collapse of integrity in another. If we want physical media to survive, it’s not just Blu-ray’s. It’s also records/tapes/CDS, printed books, hard copies of video games. All of it is one ecosystem.
