Thinking about how if all goes well 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I only have 3 years and 3 days of active cancer treatments to go so there’s that
(Almost 2 years of medication down, 3 to go. They just switched me to a new medication so now I get a whole host of different and differently awful side effects 😓)

I know we all realize this, but to underline the point: AI is predicated on exploitation, environmental degradation, and financial speculation. It should be the antithesis of everything we stand for as professors.

Lately I’ve been reading Proust in French. This is what all those years and years of education and “useless” degrees and time living abroad prepared me for. Totally worth it 😇
