I'm going to say something controversial here: D&D 'line' spells like Lighning Bolt should be 10 feet wide instead of 5 feet wide.
They're balanced identically to 'sphere' spells of the same level in terms of damage, but when using maps it is far easier to get many enemies in a sphere than a line

My first political memory - exactly 62 years ago right now, a 4-year-old boy trying to understand his mom's tears - is still the biggest event in my lifetime. We still (IMO) don't *really* know who killed JFK, but we know the public's trust was shattered. It's a straight line to today's mess
