KALSHI IS SUBJECT TO NEVADA GAMING REGULATION, JUDGE RULES
November 26, 2025 at 2:11 AM
Some enterprising gambling commission lawyer might have fun with that: “did you continue to run marketing campaigns explicitly stating it was legal in contravention of the clear intent of the judge’s order”
November 26, 2025 at 2:10 AM
Yeah was just looking for that to add it underneath because lol

I’m pretty sure Bryan Johnson will end up dying younger than he otherwise would have (assuming instead he had followed conventional health advice and conventional exercise regimes) because he’s gonna end up spiking something weird
November 26, 2025 at 12:55 AM
There is no magic bullet, health is mostly boring, it’s eating enough fiber and diverse enough to get your nutrients, it’s getting enough exercise, it’s taking reasonable preventative and early interventions to reduce the probability of death
November 26, 2025 at 12:54 AM
People who live longer will in aggregate eat slightly healthier than people who live shorter, but that doesn’t sell books
November 26, 2025 at 12:53 AM
If you do statistical analysis on a bunch of records and it turns out the records were not carefully kept you’re going to believe dumb things
November 26, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Reporter was too scared to say what in specific he was referring to, because he thought Trump would recognize the dog whistle and do the lifting on that part for him
November 25, 2025 at 10:48 PM
It was really funny when it happened
November 25, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Instead Trump said something like “there’s lots of types of laws that apply”
November 25, 2025 at 10:42 PM
Like the reporter was clearly trying to open that line of Zohran criticism, but Trump lacked the knowledge or capacity to recognize that
November 25, 2025 at 10:41 PM
Was really hilarious in the Trump-Zohran presser when Trump could not parse that the question about international law in NYC was meant to be about Netanyahu
November 25, 2025 at 10:40 PM
lol I don’t know if it’s actually controversial, it’s just not a homebrew I have seen floating around before and generally I think D&D designers have done a good job of balancing an unbalanceable game
November 25, 2025 at 9:37 PM
My players would definitely zap themselves if I started using it
November 25, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Those are the rules where it reflects off the wall and continues going until the full length is exhausted right?

I do not currently use them, but that would be another way to help make them more useful in terms of appropriately balancing damage for spell level
November 25, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Now, I'm aware that a significant portion of the utility of the 'line' spells is that they make it easier to avoid collateral damage, but I still think that's not enough of a benefit to justify the 'damaging area' nerf vs. sphere spells
November 25, 2025 at 9:01 PM
I would even be amenable to the argument that it should actually be 15 feet wide, even though that makes it a larger area, just because of how rarely the full 120-foot length will be used.

If the average room is only 60 feet long, then that is 900 square feet, or less than the sphere
November 25, 2025 at 8:59 PM
Plus, it balances the 2-d area covered by the spells more closely.

A 20-foot-radius circle has a 400π-foot area, or ~1200 square feet.

A 10-foot-wide line that goes 120 feet has a 1200-square-foot area.

Currently it's less than half the area
November 25, 2025 at 8:57 PM
Widening the line makes it a little bit easier to get as many people with the 'line' spell as you might with a 'sphere' spell
