She/her, motherfuckers. Middle aged and slightly awkward in Manhattan.
I am having difficulty finding someone to see all 3+ hours of Warren Beatty's Reds at Lincoln Center with me on Valentines for some reason.

Strange Days is just as flawed as I remember it - even in 1995, 17 year old Beth was annoyed at the cop-out ending. But it’s got style in a kinda proto-Matrix vibe, and the whole plot line around cops executing someone on camera sure had some resonance in the theater.

This is Netflix's NYC theater that I'm at and they're showing a preview for a Laura Poitras inspired film series, and Glenn fucking Greenwald showed up on the screen. I don't think anyone else joined in, but I booed a little. Fuck that jackass.

I'm about to see Strange Days at the Paris in NYC and I'm legitimately not sure if I've seen it since i saw it on release 30ish years ago.

The front door to my building has functionally been unable to open all day. Something in the metal broke and grinds against the sidewalk at an angle, keeping the door from opening. This building, oy.

Younger generations “have fallen out of love with Harry Potter because they have fallen out of love with the worldview the series represents,” writes Louise Perry. “Which is to say that young people have fallen out of love with liberalism.”
Opinion | Why Gen Z Doesn’t Love ‘Harry Potter’
The wizarding worldview is naïve.

My humidifier managed to combine with a poor seal at the bottom of my bedroom window to create a nontrivially thick layer of ice by the time I woke up this morning. Oops.

Going to see Frankenstein on Sunday at the theater Netflix runs in NYC and I am preparing myself for the disappointment when it's not The Bride! instead.

People keep trying to diagnose Trump based on the wine-colored stain on his hand without considering the obvious answer. (It is a metaphorical representation of his sin he cannot scrub out no matter how hard he tries.)

Thanks to rereading @markharris.bsky.social's Pictures at a Revolution, I learned that there used to be 4 theaters on the block just south of me. There's only one left now, my beloved Cinema 123, but I found the marquee for one of the others on E 59th.

Top logician and fearless humanist Bertrand Russell solves crimes with his powers of deduction in the 1920s. Every episode ends with him chuckling about what he'll say about it in his next postcard to Wittgenstein.

God trains, just tell me what you want me to
God trains, nail me up against the wall
God trains, don't want everything he wants it all
It’s a punny tag reference.
