the answer to "why is this game in development hell" is nearly always Churn
Employee churn (people leave constantly bc of poor pay/work env)
Direction churn (people unsure / disagree what they are making)
Production churn (leadership throws out work bc they can't communicate well/change their mind)

so i wanted to prevent my PCG system's foliage from populating on steep edges, and it was so easy to figure out!
i decided to fill those empty spaces with dandelion seeds... isn't it perfect? it looks like these fuzzy spores just kind of gathered at the base of cliffs, and stayed there. #GameDev

i’ve said this many times & people are so quick to defend Steam it spins my mind
one of the world’s wealthiest companies taking 30% of all revenue from every struggling indie dev as a flat fee.. & taking LESS revshare from AAA games

Valve could easily lower their 30% revenue cut for small games and it wouldn't cost them much (Apple and Google do 15%) but Steam doesn't have any strong competition and devs want to be on Steam either way. IMO if indies got slightly more money, there would also be more viable games to compete with.
