If you haven't been reading Sarah Kendzior's work, you're depriving yourself of the most cogent, not to mention elegant, writing on America's capitulation to criminality. Her artistry and integrity are the saving grace that keeps me in the fight in the face of the nation's ongoing historic failures.

No cherry-picking. No party filter. Just receipts.

And a lot of powerful men are terrified right now.

KASIE HUNT: “Do you have pictures of people engaged in sexual acts as part of this?”

REP. SUBRAMANYAM: “Yes, there are people engaged in sexual acts.”

Wow ..... the Indiana GOP Governor is ... comparing the Trump regime to the Soviets??

..... that seems ..... like a meaningful inflection point.

And brutally true.
Wow. Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels writes: “Like Soviet commissars in World War II…today's Washington-based enforcers demand maximum, sacrificial loyalty or else… It's an odd way to build a winning party. Especially when, unlike the Soviet army, you don't start with overwhelming numerical superiority.”

Indiana Republicans defy Trump and reject his House redistricting push in the state
In a resounding rejection of a pressure campaign from the White House, Indiana Republican Senators voted down a new congressional map created to give the GOP an advantage in the upcoming 2026 election...

I feel like Indiana abandoning Trump is a tipping point. And it’s not because they didn’t want a new map. It’s because he shook them down.

What’s happening in Indiana right now is so important & it’s about more than maps. When the GOP stand up to Trump publicly, loudly, & with visible support, it creates permission. Permission to dissent. Permission to leave. These moments crack the illusion of unanimity that keeps people trapped.
'We can't be bullied': How Trump and the GOP's redistricting push in Indiana backfired
Aggressive tactics employed by Trump and his allies did not sit well with state lawmakers, who delivered a major political blow to national Republicans ahead of the midterms.

They push anti-vaxx & anti-science grift.

The other thing being missed: USAID had a number of successful programs to halt VZ migration in the region (in Colombia). Those got shut down and now Trump threatens both VZ and Colombia. What does that do to refugee movement?
It is telling how even high quality outlets like the America's Quarterly podcast often don't think through scenarios where Trump's violent incompetence might cause an electoral collapse of the US Right or even more chaos in Venezuela that affect his ability to shape outcomes
Whether it is analysis of Trump or Xi's supposed bids for world domination there is so much geopolitical hype that ignores the domestic weakness of great powers
