As a schools comms pro, one of my favorites is when people say "You never told us," and I ask "How did you find out?" and it's usually an email or postcard we sent out.

One of my kids used to have a weekly group get-together in Downtown East and I would head to Day Block for beer, pretzel and book. Good times.

I recognize this is not helpful to you but ... shrug.

Like sure "you can talk to the computer and it does stuff"is appealing since that's Star Trek and we want to live in Star Trek. But "you can talk to the computer and then it lies to you" is 2001: A Space Odyssey and we don't really want to live in that.

Imagine a town with only burger joints and one or two salad places 20 miles away. It would be hard to say the evidence is overwhelming that the majority of the town’s residents prefer burgers to salads. To me, that’s the suburban/urban housing preference debated distilled to its essence.
