As usual, all times Eastern and all predictions wrong. Thursday, January 8 7:30: Mississippi vs. Miami (Fiesta Bowl @ Glendale, AZ; ESPN): Both of these games will be interesting, but in somewhat different ways. This is the game with a lot more uncertainty, to me. At some point, the coaching staff chaos has to affect Mississippi, right? Miami defensive line is a nightmare for opposing offenses, but they lost two games!

It’s so hard for locally-owned venues. Go out more. See more bands. Netflix will be there when you get back.

Make memories because it all slips away far too soon.

As usual, all times Eastern and all predictions wrong. Thursday, January 1 12:00: Texas Tech (#4) vs. Oregon (#5) (Orange Bowl @ Miami Gardens, FL; ESPN): This is probably the most intriguing of all the playoff matchups. In some ways, you'd probably expect that from the 4 vs. 5 game, but still. The dynamics in play are "new money" versus "even newer money", as Texas Tech was the most aggressive team in the transfer portal last year, with this the intended result.
