Unintentional scenic practice;
Little Guys Magicking Their World.

I've been really enjoying/hating/loving/being inspired by/being challenged by making my pieces more expansive. I wanted to place them in their worlds.

I am working on expanding and imagining the world my art resides in - all my guys and creatures have thus far appeared to stand alone, but have been begging me to show their context and world. So it begins.

The left-most panel remains sketched out with just sky painted in, and the scene begins to coalesce onto a fantastical parade emerging from the dark woods.

So much of my art is based in my wonder the world and nature and weirdness and whimsy and just how cool things can be and any ways, did you know that there's a tiny blue mason bee that's particularly good at pollinating blueberries because it can "sing" the right song?

A floor standing embroidery frame lit by by morning sun. Currently attached on a scroll frame is a stretch of upcycled coffee sack canvas. Several small future miniature banners are sketched on the canvas featuring strange creatures. The strange creature on the bottom left is about 3/4 filled in with embroidery resembles a plump coral colored kiwi bird yelling at the sky.

A beanie with an appliqué and embroidery Elvis worm. The scales are only stitched down where they overlap so they ends are loose along it more 3D. The scale fabric is a blue purple holographic fabric with a lot of sheen. There is white fluffy material stitched down for the bristles.

Magique Nouveau ✨🎀 (I had so much fun trying to figure out how to decorate everything, inch by inch 🤧)
A vibrantly-colorful illustration of a highly detailed, miniature enclosed world. There are various magical-girl-style costumed femme figures who are posed and moving within a blocky, art-nouveau architecture inspired landscape colored in teal, purple, brass and silver. The scene does not follow standard linear perspective but has a flattend, isometric-abstract perspective (so figures like a mysterious woman observing out from a window in the top left are much larger than the women and girls in front of her. There are 3 central main-character girls in middle ground (color-themed in cyan, yellow and red) who are posed with their magical weapons/tools, such as a fan, sword, and moon staff, and are accompanied by their blocky magical support creatures (I imagine acting like stands or pokemon?). The top yellow-sword girl has pink hair, and appears related to the mysterious aforementioned window-woman. At left is an older magical-woman (the older sister of the cyan-moon girl?) raising a staff emitting ray of light that inverts the colors of the world in it’s path, which is shining on a moody, crouched girl who also has pink hair at the bottom right. There is no Pride without trans people. Specifically trans people of colour. Dropping the T is bootlicking. It's throwing them under the bus and waiting happily to be next.
