The details are gross both aesthetically and morally, but Nuzzi played a consequential role in the ending of a sitting president’s re-election bid. Even if you don’t include her role in RFK then getting DHHS, that alone is worth discussing

Amazon makes a lot of money in an absolute sense on the physical retail business but the margins are ultra thin. (They make enormous margins on the AWS business.) I could see them choosing to sell less stuff.

We Anglos did this with, for example, the word "soon". It actually used to mean "immediately" but thanks to human nature, became "not now, but in a short while from now."

OpenAI and Sam Altman can't keep your kid's chatbot from encouraging them into suicide, but apparently don't have as much of a problem keeping a chatbot from encouraging political assassination.
