LET US BE VERY CLEAR WHEN WE SPEAK.

LET US COLLECTIVELY SAY THE WORDS IN EVERY CONVERSATION EVERYWHERE.

THIS IS TRUMP’S AMERICA.

ICESIS IS TRUMP’S AMERICA.

AMERICANS BEING DEPORTED AND MURDERED IN OUR STREETS IS TRUMP’S AMERICA.

EPSTEIN IS TRUMP’S AMERICA.

Look.

A year ago if you told me one person was going to play twins, I am going to assume your movie is bad.

Then I saw Sinners.

Now I think the rest of these actors are lazy. Only playing one person. Pfft.

Waking up to the news that "Sinners" was nominated for 16 richly deserved Oscar Nominations was the good news I really needed today, in a world so full of such awful news.

If you haven't seen it yet, it was one of my favorite movies of the year. Of the decade. Just dazzling entertainment.

I saw Sinners in 70mm IMAX the second time, and as blown away as I was by the visuals, the biggest takeaway was how great Delroy Lindo is. He was the on-the-bubble nominee I was really pulling for, and, well … good job Oscars! (Now let’s talk about those documentaries)

A little A.V. Club thread on the Oscar nominees? Why not!

We loved Sinners when it first came out www.avclub.com/sinners-review

And hated the weird racism around its success www.avclub.com/sinners-open...
The reaction to Sinners' opening lays bare the racial bias around Black blockbusters
Pieces worrying about the box office seem reserved for movies like Sinners, with certain kind of filmmakers and a certain kind of audience.

Ryan Coogler’s Sinners was nominated for a record-setting 16 #Oscars, including Best Picture.

Rolling Stone’s David Fear called the film “a genre-blending blast of blood, sex, and homespun Delta blues.”

There are moments I lose faith in film. I get burnt out. So to see Sinners, a movie that represents all I believe film should be, receive this much love from the industry, gives me hope. It’s been a thunderous success start to finish and even if it misses a big three award it won.

Not to detract from his obviously heavier, more substantive work in SINNERS, but Delroy Lindo steals what is perhaps the most memorable scene in Congo while sitting opposite Laura Linney, Ernie Hudson at his peak, and Tim Curry at his campiest.

Dude rules
Delroy Lindo has finally received his first ever Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘SINNERS’
