House consensus after trying Skyline Chili on chili dogs is that the $5 can of Skyline Chili for Hot Dogs has no better taste or texture than the $1.80 can of Castleberry Hot Dog Chili.

The fact that this man, whose work we all know, had to sell off valuables to pay for cancer treatments tells you how rigged this system is against us, and how fucked the average person is if we don't effect some change. May his memory be a blessing.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (Florida, Dem) has a stack of Harry Potter books displayed and he states that Trump's name appears in the Epstein Files more than Harry Potter's name appears in the entire Harry Potter book series...

Also, more than Jesus in the bible.

Bondi did not like this...

That moment when your favorite former Big Boss boosts and recommends you on that work social site...

... hit me way harder than I imagined! I had no idea I needed that affirmation that much! 😊😭🥰

While I tire of living in interesting times, sharing time and space with Sir McKellan is a blessing.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

It's been weeks since I last saw temperatures above freezing. This morning I resurrected the furnace blower for the older side of the house; temps in the kitchen dropped as far as 42, instead of the preferred 64.

That fan was down 2-3 days before the kids complained of the cold.

I love my house.

If you're wondering just how far right the GOP is in Tarrant County, where Taylor Rehmet just pulled off a stunning upset, here is the type of stuff that the party's (now former) chairman posts on a daily basis with almost zero backlash from others in the party.
The leader of the GOP in Tarrant County - Texas' third-largest county and the largest Republican-held county in America - has spent this week openly spewing racial slurs and mocking people who will lose access to food stamps on Nov. 1.

Anybody who tells you that mental health recovery isn't work has obviously never tried it. Sustained dives into one's psyche is as physically exhausting as an extended sports training session. The body aches and recovers alongside the mind.

We all need these words from @margaret.bsky.social now and again. Thank you for the reminder.
“I genuinely believe we’re going to win. But it’s going to be hard, and scary…But things are going to get worse before they get better…

By acting with courage and conviction, we embolden ourselves and each other. Fascism is an ideology of fear, and courage is its antithesis.”

The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

So yeah, on one hand, invoking the Gadsden Flag in the name of sending US troops to occupy US cities is hilariously absurd. On the other hand, it is exactly the sort of absurdity one would expect from a fascistic American leader.
