It finally happened‼️

You better be sitting down‼️

For the first time, a Russian politician told the truth about the war from the parliamentary podium.

Weird statement by Rutte. First, it is obviously wrong. Given time and the necessary investments, Europe can of course defend itself without U.S.
And second: Why undermine European deterrence like that? This message increases the risk that Putin will try to exploit the current fracture in NATO.
“If anyone thinks here ... that the European Union or Europe as a whole can defend itself without the U.S., keep on dreaming,” he told lawmakers on the European Parliament’s defense and foreign affairs committees. “You can't.”

Europe can’t defend itself without the US, NATO’s Rutte warns
The EU should stop dreaming of creating a European pillar for NATO and continue to build ties with the U.S. despite Trump, the alliance secretary-general said.

Meanwhile in Russia: state TV's experts explained that Moscow is trying to trick Trump into unfreezing Russia's assets, to be used for reconstruction on the territories they want to take from Ukraine. They've admitted there is no chance of a peace deal.

As great powers abandon rules and values for their own interests, middle powers like Canada have a choice: compete with each other for favour or act together with impact.

The TACO cycle:

Markets want to price in TACO. But TACO only works if Trump sees stocks tank.

So we get a loop: Trump does things → nothing happens (markets already priced in TACO) → that emboldens him to do more → until markets start to think he might not TACO → stocks fall → TACO is restored.

Btw, a lesson Canada should draw from Ukraine's experience is that the ability of the aggressor to create a "separatist movement" out of thin air by promoting and arming completely marginal losers should never be underestimated. When Ru jump started protests in Ukraine's east in spring 2014, ....
Steve Bannon is now openly talking about taking Alberta as the 51rst State, saying it's all he needs right now, instead of all of Canada. I live in Alberta. We will fight this.

Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies.

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!

I’m in the process of dropping US tech services. Here’s how I did it, and options you should consider.

Renault will produce up to 600 of the drones per month, with some employees voluntarily transferred from the automotive chassis and motor lines.

The former Norwegian Chief of Defence has several other quotes worth mentioning👇

He describes Trump's behaviour as a "mentally retarded bull in a Greenlandic glass shop"

The US has become "a normless and hostile superpower"

"Norway should not buy American defence equipment."

This should be obvious to everyone: if Europe backs down and lets the US take Greenland, the transatlantic relationship would no longer be an alliance. Europeans would become dominated American satellites without sovereignty just like EEuropeans were Soviet satellites in the Warsaw Pact years.

Assuming they're going to Minnesota and not Greenland. This is the 11th Airborne, the unit Malcolm Nance flagged months ago as the one that Trump would use if he wanted to do a flash invasion of Greenland.
The Pentagon now has 1500 troops on standby for possible Minnesota deployment. There is no question that 47 is ratcheting up the pace to violence- it’s what he wants so he can invoke the insurrection act.

Paratroopers are trained to do combat.

Pundits told us "Putin only understands strength".

And I agree.

However, I don't here them saying the same thing about Trump.

The same holds for Trump.

Both interpret concessions, restraint, or ambiguity as weakness.

They respect only clear red lines backed by military and economic power.
