A thing I wish I could teach people is that the vast majority of very rich people are deeply stupid. They did not get where they are because of ingenuity or talent. They got there because of compound interest on hereditary wealth and being tax cheats.

"Twin Peaks: The Return" was a series that was about death and infused with death and made poignant by the deaths of so many of the actors from Lynch's recurring ensemble. Lynch's own passing now probably makes the series the definitive 18-hour artistic reflection on mortality, if it wasn't already.

I shouldn’t be surprised but I’m really taken aback at how profoundly self-serving this is. It comes at the expense of everyone who isn’t already an established star — and at the expense of the TV/film industry itself
