This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

A truly shocking moment for Labor

Awesome article from the incredible @amyremeikis.bsky.social for @thenewdaily.bsky.social on how the LNP's self-destruction should sound a warning note for the ALP.

No saving the Coalition – and that should be a warning to Labor
Labor is trying to present itself as the adult in the room, by pointing to the opposition's tantrums. That’s not governing, it’s babysitting.

FFS! Country people already have to travel huge distances compared to city types.

Lower speed limits won't make them safer. Trips will just take much longer and frustrate everyone.

Most prangs are caused by impatience, inattention, entitlement or stupidity.

Homo Sapiens emerged about 300,000 years ago.

Imagine you gave an early Sapiens $9,000. And they looked at you and said “the fuck is this?”

But anyway, you piled up $9,000 Every Single Day since the first Sapiens walked the Earth.

You still wouldn’t have a trillion dollars.

-Billions in revenue
-Thousands of jobs
-Eliminating red-tape

Conveniently ignoring:
-Few jobs
-Profits offshored
-Tax-avoidance
-Environmental destruction
-Clean-ups WE pay for
