The paywalled text media has what I’d call a “noble savage” view of “the American electorate”
You think the ford motor company would do that? Just side with the nazis right away?

Two big Product traps I’m worried about with genAI:
1) Adverse network effects
2) Diminishing returns to growth signals in the context of PR saturation
AI “productivity” is such a slippery conversation. Ultimately, you wind up talking past outputs/outcomes. I hear a lot about how Gen AI makes it so easy to produce emails and docs.

For all of my (valid) complaints about iOS 26, they seem to have fixed the Mail issue where it would load a new message mid-swipe and you’d delete something other than what you meant to and you’d have to search different accounts to confirm it was junk

I’m sorry, as anyone who has ever studied technical analysis would say — and of course Bitcoin is a purely vibes based asset totally requiring of technical analysis — the term for this is “lmao”

When I get a shipping confirmation and I see “FedEx” or “Veho”, I just know that there’s a decent chance I never get the thing at all. Seems like there’s a decent correlation between union labor and things working. Has anyone looked into this?

Every time anyone talks about sports gambling I just think “I watch sports because it’s fun and impressive and I have teams I’ve been following since I was a kid” with the energy of “I sleep in a big bed with my wife”

Unsurprising that, after his party got its ass whipped, Trump would lean into vote fraud horseshit. A little surprising, though, that no one has yet told him that anonymous grocery shopping remains not just possible but the norm.
Trump: "It's time for Republicans to do what they have to do and that's terminate the filibuster ... we should start tonight with 'the country's open, congratulations,' then we should pass voted ID, we should pass no mail in voting ... you go to a grocery store, you have to give ID."

when did we decide, as a society, that “cohort” is just a synonym for “group” rather than specifically a group that shares some time-invariant characteristic(s)

Love listening to investors who’ve forgotten more about managing money than I’ll ever know, but when they trip on “monotonic” and “orthogonal” and so forth and then have a thesis on sparkling linear algebra it’s reason to reweight these specific expectations

Love the ESPN Bet commercials that depict their audience as suggestible morons, unable to identify that the ideas they think are theirs were fed to them by pervasive advertising or why they would be inherently desirable
