Very proud of David for pulling this off! Cool work too, but I'm clearly bias 😏

So my former PhD student David Davtian has produced his first paper from his PhD, and since we're so proud of it, I'm going to steal all the tweets he wrote about it and post them here:

Scientists: have you been the target of an online harassment campaign, doxxing, or weaponized FOIA requests? I'd like to talk to you about steps you had to take to protect your digital security for an upcoming Nature story. (You can be anonymous if necessary.)

RTs appreciated.

In the span of a hour, they stealth edited the article from trans woman to "biological male who identifies as a woman." The BBC isn't fit for purpose.
It looks like that BBC page has been updated in the last few minutes, so that's no longer the last sentence. I think part of it has been moved to this paragraph in the middle of the article, and the age is no longer mentioned:

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Smurfs were created by Belgian cartoonist 'Peyo' in 1958 as "Les Schtroumpfs". He described them as "no more than three apples tall."

Fruit flies (Drosophila) are considerably smaller: typically 3-4 mm long. And these fruit flies have been SMURFED.

Let's talk about Smurf assay in fruit flies.🪰

Reminder that men have no inherent right to the surname of the father, regardless of situation.

You're not property, ladies, keep your last name and give it to your kid.
A High Court judge has forced a six-year-old girl to keep the surname of the man who raped her mother. We think this is an outrage and are putting together a legal team so D's mother can take her case to the European Court of Human Rights.

But we need your help. goodlawproject.org/crowdfunder/...
