The other day my elderly Republican neighbor told me that she donated to a mutual aid fund at her church and expressed an interest in delivering groceries to people staying home. People care about their neighbors here.
I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
“If I am killed doing this, throw my body at the White House, martyr the shit out of me & raise hell. Do not be sad. Do not think I would do anything differently. I would do it over & over again — this is too important to sit down & shut up and not do anything.” www.mprnews.org/story/2026/0...

I’ve caucused once before and my first, immediate impression was how inaccessible the process is to so many people.
Its precinct caucus night in MN and once again I want to say this is a terrible way to decide anything, limiting access to those who can go to a specific crowded space and be functional for hours on a random Tuesday night.

*Everyone* I know in MN is exhibiting telltale signs of trauma response to the occupation at this point; whether directly impacted or feeling the impacts of secondary and indirect trauma.

This is a reminder to care for the helpers and front line folks. To get rest and pace yourself.

Hang in there.

I'm sorry for the person who was beat to death and killed. My sincere condolences to their loved ones. ICE is going to continue to kill people because the purpose of a system is what it does. It is not what it says it does or what you hope it does. Maybe USians will finally confront this truth.

If anyone wants a summary of what’s happening around here, read this
Creating a thread of egregious ICE actions in the Twin Cities over the last 12 days.

For those who aren't plugged into what's going on - it can feel remote and "not so bad."

Likewise for folks far away. So this collection of stories and links aims to share a small part of the story.

"All is lost" narratives are popular because people generally do not want to take action. Taking action is tiring so if all is lost, you are off the hook. Nothing is more seductive than not having to do anything.

Let me tell you about all the time and money I have spent, and continue to spend, to try to make sure my kid is accommodated appropriately at school.
I keep thinking about LSAC data saying students with accommodations get higher scores.

The most obvious possibility to me is not "some students unfairly get accommodations"; it is, "people with wealth are more likely to get accommodations."

Another thing about yesterday‘s protest escalation in St Paul : this area of the East Side is very diverse. I do believe that that had an impact on SPPD‘s deployment.

There are a lot of immigrants in this neighborhood, so the terror is felt far and wide. It is intimidation- locally sourced.

This is in front of my local public library, where I bring my kids all the time.
Riddle me this, how in the fuck is this making our communities any safer? This ICE agent sprays this disabled woman directly in the face in St Paul, Minnesota with pepper spray and then throws her to the ground. I hope she sues the hell out of ICE for this‼️#Abolish 🧊🧊🧊

There’s no such thing as unskilled labor.
Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.
