press isn’t paying attention to how close Landry and the Trump regime are, and how things they try here go federal, but this goes beyond anything I feared they’d do.

Landry does here have gone national. He hired Noem’s former assistant to head the department of wildlife and fisheries, and after using DWF cops to help round up the unhoused in New Orleans, she’s now the deputy head of ICE. I know I’m not the only one wondering why the national, or even local ffs,

spread quickly. But republicans in Louisiana lashed out at John Bel Edwards, and Landry as AG fought him on every public health measure, he even brought RFK down here to testify against COVID vaccines. Landry hired Corey Lewandowski for his campaign, he’s incredibly close with Kristi Noem and things

infrastructure and protections, and the federal public health system was the only thing that protected us. We had a dem governor for COVID, he did an incredible job and helped make it less bad for us, and the entire country, because infections from Mardi Gras spread. With travel so common, diseases

It’s a high enough latitude that it was bright at night. We’d walk a mile or more without needing a flashlight. I have no idea if what I saw was northern lights, or what, but it’s a favorite, wondrous memory. I do really like being in a place where it’s light at night. Also remember that from UK.

I listened to pretty much them and Robbie Williams on repeat from about then until Florence + the Machine came in. Lily Allen and some others, too, but Travis and Robbie got me through then. And I was living in LA? I do regret not discovering Rilo Kiley when I could have seen them up the street.

There’s a couple things I make that do two meals, and I put the leftovers in a big gallon ziploc freezer bag asap. There’s just no room in our fridge. As well as being the old, smaller standard size, it’s the anti tardis. It’s smaller on the inside.

Your book about dark sky areas made me want to go to one. I spent a couple weeks with family in the country outside Montreal at 13, and there was this strange, glowing, mass? cloud?, idk, in the sky one night when my cousins and I slept by the lake. They’d fallen asleep so I was the only one to see.

I don’t get it either, I think it’s because Coldplay is so much more popular now that people who don’t know Travis see the similarities and assume they’re copying Coldplay, instead of both bands rising up from the same influences. Then going their own ways. Travis is so much better.

I can feel a 36-county Ireland becoming more probable with every new law they pass to make life impossible for poor people in the UK.

But I don’t like them. Ironically, Travis broke huge first, but then retreated a bit, and now get derogatory comparisons to Coldplay.

The Bends is still a favorite of mine, Fake Plastic Trees influenced my musical so deeply. The part where it swells up, I’ve chased that feeling ever since. But I didn’t keep up with them after. I did get incredibly into Travis, who were influenced by early Radiohead. Coldplay was, too.
