Wikipedia is the ground truth of the internet. It has over 260000 dedicated people engaged in radically transparent content moderation and that’s why it’s the last best thing on the Internet. Targeting it says more about the one doing the targeting. www.theverge.com/news/656720/...

Fun fact: I was on the investigation & trial team for Round 1 (while in law school 4 nights/week, for 2 years). I look forward to watching Round 2 from the sidelines.
NEW: Manhattan prosecutors will retry Harvey Weinstein, they tell judge: "We believe in this case, and we will be retrying this case." Judge remands Weinstein, and prosecutors say they want to schedule a trial after Labor Day. (via Molly Crane-Newman, NYDN)

For many people it has become accepted, unquestionable, wisdom that social media like Facebook is bad for mental wellbeing. Now a massive study, looking at data on nearly a million people across 72 countries says the evidence does not support this.

Seriously, call your Senators now. This needs to be stopped before it goes any further. They want to drive LGBTQIA+ off the internet entirely, and Democrats are on board.

Influencers Starting To Realize How The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) Will Do Real Damage
We’ve talked a lot about just how bad the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is. Yet some people (including people who, frankly, should know better) keep trying to tell me how well meaning it is. It’s ...

So—the Colorado website designer in the fake same-sex wedding website case, 303 Creative, it turns out, had made a wedding website, before filing her legal challenge.

New reporting from me, thanks to a stellar tip:
A Real Wedding Website in a Fake Gay Wedding Website Case
An archive shows that the plaintiff in the Supreme Court case did once design a wedding website, contrary to what her lawyers presented during her legal challenge.

All of these + when you're in a cast or otherwise recovering from a bad injury, & can't move or do things normally w/o potentially extending or totally derailing your recovery
I love living alone 99% of the time. Here’s when it sucks:
- needing to move furniture
- being sick
- chore chart=one big square
- when you injure yourself JUST bad enough that you MIGHT need to go to the urgent care? But you’re not sure need someone else to say, “oh no that looks bad”
