Former US Atty for Colorado Troy Eid (appointed by GW Bush) says "there's a real question of competency" with Lindsey Halligan, formerly of Colorado.

Eid blasted the politicized prosecution of James Comey. "This is not acceptable," Eid said. "We cannot allow this to go on."

My nomination for the Most English Thing Ever: Richard Dawson caught bubonic plague in Cheshire in 1625. Realizing that he was about to die, and that his nephew and servant were not strong enough to carry his body, he dug his own grave, and laid down in it in a bed of straw, waiting to die. #IDSky

Past is prologue.

In 1933, during the Great Depression, a group of wealthy businessmen tried to overthrow the US government and install a fascist dictator to protect their own interests.

And everything that led to it feels way too familiar right now.

This is not a history lesson, it’s a warning.

He was found hanging with his hands and feet tied behind him in the “hog tie” position.

Deaths within these camps continue to rise, with more people dying in the last nine months than in the entire previous four years.

Guillotine, Shrapnel, Algorithm, Leotard, Saxophone, Jacuzzi, Sandwich, Cardigan, Nacho...

All common words that are just the name of their inventors.

And I think I have threads on most of them? 😧
In 1784, British Lt. Henry Shrapnel of Royal Artillery invented a 'spherical case' cannon shell that exploded in mid-air, raining down lead shot on infantry.

It was replaced in 1803 with a modified design that came to be known as the 'Shrapnel shell' & the name came to refer to the projectiles.
