i love people who email me offering feedback on audio. Never asked for it, never going to ask for it, not interested, never going to be interested, and every time you send one of these notes to a podcast host of any kind you are being annoying outside of a "hey this is a huge production issue"

these people never, ever offer any actual solutions or suggestions, and always phrase it as "constructive feedback" in the most snide way

Don't get distracted from the real issues. We must remain an extremely online army chained to our computers angrily posting day in day out. A single afternoon of sheer explosive spite-fueled fun will be the single deciding factor in whether we survive this endless bullshit

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store

Upgraded my mesh router WiFi situation after living with crap like 3 years, this (Tp-Link Deco) is the wirecutter's upgrade pick and it a) works really well/is really fast b) installed with effectively no work and c) also shows you the connection strength of each mesh router.

What are the best 1-3 things you've ever spent money on? Let's do unusual things.

For me:
- Beautiful Smythson notepad to write in
- Extended honeymoon
- 40th birthday where I treated friends/family so we could all be together

I do get asked what podcasts I listen to, and the only good ones are niche nerdy shit ones. Nearly every politics/news podcast is fucking awful, they're all just rooms to huff different flavors of farts depending on which you think don't stink. Unchallenging confirmation bias faff across the board.

I read so many stories like this every day, we live in a completely insane time in tech history. Generative AI is the thing that has revealed how many useless managers are in charge
My company forced us to use GitHub Copilot as some kind of efficiency measure. I spent a good three hours today trying to tweak a couple lines of code while it gave me confidently wrong suggestions on what to do. I finally gave up and found what I was looking for on my first Stack Overflow hit.

The thing about Elon bribing voters is it’s really of a piece with what conservatism is offering people. It’s like we’ll drive down wages, eliminate unions, make life unsustainable for millions of people, but here’s a lottery ticket! Here’s a cryptocurrency based on the Rugrats! Here’s your chance!
