Diabolical.
I’m seeing it at my workplace. We are being asked to use agents to do things we know how to do our selves. Of course our interactions will be tracked and used to train the next version of the algorithm to eventually try to replace us or at least compete with us and put our wages under threat.

Pretty please, fuck all the way off with this. I love my job which is why I’ve been at the same cubicle computer screen for almost 25 years. I get to help people every day.
JD Vance: "To our fellow Americans we say, you're never gonna find great meaning in a cubicle or in front of a computer screen. But you will find great meaning if you dedicate yourself to the creation and sustenance of human life."

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

So many great reading suggestions! Perhaps if you’re looking for a little escapism for… reasons.
I’m in search of book recs for my niece. Criteria:

- Science fiction
- Female lead(s)
- Has an audiobook

Bonus points for space opera and queer books. She doesn’t mind if the books aren’t super recent (she loved the Honor Harrington series).

I want to print YOU DON'T GET GOOD AT A THING BY NOT DOING IT onto little cards and just hand them out in conversation sometimes
D1) again, this is difficult to pull off at longer lengths. But you don't get good at a thing by not doing it.

E) YOU DON'T GET GOOD AT A THING BY NOT DOING IT done is better than perfect. Don't worry so much about "practicing right" just practice. You can adjust as you need as you go on.

This is my feeling as I’m discovering YouTube music suggestions ai slop. I don’t want to wonder if it’s ai slop or not.
Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.
