Trump needs to stop threatening our elections.

➡️ FBI raided a Georgia election center & took ballots

➡️ Trump called for Republicans to "take over" elections in 15 states

➡️ Yesterday, he said some states can't be trusted to count votes.

This is a five-alarm fire for democracy. Congress must act.

William Shakespeare, 400 years ago, speaking for today.
Perfection
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Don Lemon and Georgia Fort's work as journalists is protected by the First Amendment.

The Trump administration continues to ignore the Constitution, weaponizing the federal government to intimidate and silence critics.

They must be released immediately.

Colin and Sophie Hortman have been through the unimaginable, losing their mom and dad in a horrific act of political violence. Trump’s lies are dangerous and make their loss all the more painful.

They deserve better, and so does our country.

Good for Arizona’s Department of Health. Let’s hope other states do the same, for our children’s health.
On one side you have RFK Jr. and his hand-picked vaccine adviser who say there's no need for all newborns to be vaccinated against hepatitis B. On the other is AZ Dept of Health Services which says risks of not vaccinating can lead to serious complications. tucson.com/news/state-r...
Arizona will still promote Hep B vax for newborns despite CDC action
Arizona health department says it's far too risky to stop automatically immunizing newborns, despite a CDC panel's new recommendation.

Amen.
John Roberts has been a GOP operative, in "institutionalist" clothing, through all of his career.

Chapter and verse, here: www.harvardmagazine.com/legal/suprem...

He was on GWBush team during the 2000 Florida recount battles.

Think: Mike Johnson, with Harvard vs LSU pedigree.

Since we can’t ever expect Mike Johnson to do the right thing, we’re forcing a vote on extending ACA tax credits. And we only need four more members to sign the petition to make it happen.

This seems like the most straightforward and also basically accurate message.
instead of saying this was good strategy, maybe senate dems should say: "the republicans were going to kill people by starving them to death, and because we aren't monsters, we decided to let this fight go. We'll keep fighting. Stop electing monsters."

Senator Angus King (an Independent from Maine, 81 years old) just said that they had to settle because he asked his Republican friends if they’d ever agree on ACA and they said no. Brilliant. Does he think they will agree later? Does he realize that people depend on ACA for health care?

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.
