Hello I used to Tweet but now I only tweet

Extremely Gay, extremely Scottish, mostly angry queerposting, no Yanks in the replies (Nice Americans welcome)
FINALLY, the two child limit dead and buried as it should be - Shona Robison and Shirley-Anne Somerville presumably just leapt to their feet cheering triumphantly, that's a few hundred mil they won't have to spend mitigating it

Revenues from road pricing for electric vehicles - a new UK-wide tax - to be spent on English road maintenance? Peculiar framing... (I mean I assume it wouldn't truly be hypothecated anyway but weird)

In fairness, good to see the tax boot being put into landlords and a closing of the gap between different forms of income

Yes. Is Scotland part of the United Kingdom that will get investment from the UK Government as a matter of course, or do we only get special pat on the head cash when we vote "correctly"? A rotten attitude! It's not good for the Government to imply the latter is the case! For a cheap jibe! Come ON!
will we get less money next year when we don’t make Anas Sarwar First Minister and there’s no need to try and bribe us to any more

also: in the hypothetical where it wasn’t formula-driven and they genuinely were providing extra funding to Scotland because their Scottish leader wanted it, that wouldn’t be good! that shouldn’t be how it’s determined!

You do have to admit though that given how much of a disaster this budget already was (in terms of narrative and groundwork) it is SCREAMINGLY funny the OBR cockup has just made that vibe even worse, congrats guys, if you wanted to make the Chancellor's life even worse, you have succeeded

LET'S GET READY TO BUUUUUDGEEEEET*

*Viewers in the devolved nations may need to wait up to six weeks before they can fully budget

I know I have been pretty More in Common hostile in general but a further ramping up of that: it feels rather like some of what it polls on is mostly about proving their poll guy to be a very clever analyst, given he was giving it BUT THIS WOULD BE A MASSIVE LOSS OF TRUST re: tax rises
People think Labour breaking the manifesto pledge on tax would be *more damaging* than the Liz Truss mini-budget and Partygate?

Honestly the platonic ideal of a Yankpost here: sees someone critical of a far-right swing, assumes it's about their country, agrees it's terrible. Then gets told its about a different country, at which point the switch to telling us we apparently can't complain about our own heinous government!

Emailing work IT after getting an obviously scam email that could either be real scam or test scam like I deserve a little reward for not being scammed

Not to keep girning about the same thing but it occurs to me it has been a month since the Caerphilly Senedd by-election and there has been no Welsh poll and no credible Scottish poll since.

It is less than six months until the Scottish and Welsh Parliaments are elected. Complete contempt!

yes I don't really see how you can go "oh yikes these people have changed their political views incredibly quickly, mostly because of what Very Online people talk about on social media" and also think that people who went from never talking about gender to calling trans women predators are....normal
I don’t like subtweeting people I consider online friends, but there is a subset of people who are very worried about the ongoing radicalisation of our political elite but won’t ever acknowledge the echoes with the radicalisation of their colleagues on trans rights
And few who are sympathetic to us, some who are friendly with me on here, will ever stick their head above the parapet

From the country that brought you "we want Nordic style public service provision with American style personal taxation", we bring you Nordic style political diversity with an American style electoral system

I do try not to get too alarmist but I do have an increasing concern about the possibility of a major collapse in institutional legitimacy (government, courts, media) arising from what is a pretty undeniable shift on their part to the far right positions on most social issues

Mind when the Political Editor at the national broadcaster forgot the Conservatives gave us three PMs in three months when he said the SNP's three FMs in a year was somehow worse?

Top rate indeed

Man shocked to discover 45 minute walk in the dark less enjoyable than 45 minute cycle in the sun at lunchtime would have been (the winterposting will continue until orbital position improves, or catastrophic change in axial tilt occurs)

Seasonal reminder to people who live alone that you should buy some painkillers on your next few supermarket runs, because you WILL be struck down with a plague in the next few weeks and don't want to be caught short xoxo

I have no reasons for issuing this PSA

Phone goes, it's my mum:
"Are you in? I'm in the vicinity with a pal, do you want a visit?
Of course, yes, come by
"Great. Also, I have a favour to ask"
OH I SEE HOW IT IS, MOTHER

I do think it's worth addressing that the intellectual lodestar of this government is a gibbering idiot.
There are some truly unhinged bits in the piece about Glasman, as to be expected when dealing with Glasman, but seriously what the actual? That's...one hell of a conflation of terminology.

The Power of Love came on in the climbing centre which is how I found out @louisewilso.bsky.social has never seen Back to the Future and I'm pretty sure the whole centre (okay it's early so not many people) heard me furiously exclaim WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'VE NEVER SEEN BACK TO THE FUTURE

Oh we're in peak Scottish Tap Water Season now lads, that's the good stuff, crisp and cool as you like, yeah sure it's darker and colder up here but I tell you what, the English can't cup their hands under the tap and come away from it refreshed, invigorated, and bursting with national pride
November 23, 2025 at 12:08 AM
It is absolutely embarrassing that the National are still treating the YouGov from earlier this week which asked people about whether they'd consider voting for parties as a poll of voting intention. My guys, when you have numbers adding up to 172%, that is very obviously not voting intention.
