Hello I used to Tweet but now I only tweet

Extremely Gay, extremely Scottish, mostly angry queerposting, no Yanks in the replies (Nice Americans welcome)
1. These people mostly do not exist because only 0.5% of homes in Scotland are Band H and thus would get the 25% hike
2. Also don't exist because no one reliant on state pension could ever afford such a home
3. Even if 1 and 2 somehow don't apply, these schemes always have exemptions

Maddening!

And have you considered putting it to them that children who didn't ask to be born shouldn't go hungry? That parents can lose their jobs or become seriously unwell? Have you considered you can make a case and argue a point to change views and not merely ventriloquise what other people have told you?

Me reading this whilst mid musing to myself about how some WoW players got bigmad when the second expansion actually made endgame content realistically accessible to everyone and not just hardcore gamer bros, truly, the eternally accurate game take

What it should also hopefully do is make it marginally easier for the Scottish Government to make their own council tax reforms that would have to include a large hike in liability for the most expensive properties but given cowardice has been the order of the day thus far we'll see

"Do you think people should plan to definitely not have cancer, or lose their jobs, or flee an abusive partner before they have another kid?" would get a different response. "Do you think children who didn't ask to be born should be punished with cold and hunger for their parents choices?" likewise.

also: in the hypothetical where it wasn’t formula-driven and they genuinely were providing extra funding to Scotland because their Scottish leader wanted it, that wouldn’t be good! that shouldn’t be how it’s determined!

I also always forget how ghastly watching the Commons is. The Westminster Lobby snobs act like Holyrood is the silly clownshow and you can't get one sentence into a major statement in the Commons without HMNYEEAHHHH HMNYEEAHHHH and shouting and jeering, it's pathetic, grow up children.

Oh of course watching via BBC means I have to listen to Chris Mason first, I would simply rather ask an urban fox for political analysis

It's also effectively a poll of "do you think if the current government, that is currently in place and you currently hate and wish would fuck off, does a thing you won't like, you will like that less than things you didn't like by governments in the past not currently pissing you off?"

What you have really polled on here is do people like tax rises to which the answer is always overwhelmingly "fuck no"! This isn't a real revelation

I am half converting to the @dov.bsky.social school of thought that every country needs a language to separate it from others, but the half is that instead of Gaelic I think I should learn Welsh and start posting in that, retvrn to Ystrad Clud and Yr Hen Ogledd
