This needs to be framed beyond academia, as most on the right want to see it suffer.

This needs to be framed for how devastating this will be for the economy, at all levels (local/state/fed) as these budgets send billions across the country in people’s salaries/etc.
Budget released today:
40% cut to NIH
50% cut to NSF
If enacted, this will destroy academic research in the United States. It will also have a major trickle down effect on the entire academic ecosystem

Its near-final budget proposal would end all NOAA research labs, academic institutes, and regional climate centers. And it wants to fully end the NOAA Research division.

My hometown paper, The Stamford Advocate, isn’t afraid to report the truth.

10 days ago Trump fired hundreds of FAA employees, weakening the systems air traffic controllers rely on.

Maybe instead of handing Elon a $2 billion FAA contract, we should use that money to actually hire and retain the workers who keep our skies safe.

Just a thought.

For the people who used to ask 'Why do you have to be so political?' I hope that it's now obvious why.

Healthcare is political. Housing is political. Education is political. The air we breathe, the water we drink —it's all shaped by policy and power.

Ignoring that is a political choice.
