Exactly as expected. The rules never apply to them
I have spoken with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and our Ambassador in Caracas. The EU is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela.

The EU has repeatedly stated that Mr Maduro lacks legitimacy and has defended a peaceful transition. (1/2)

RIP Dick Cheney, you would have finally found something to like about the Trump presidency (illegally overthrowing a government for oil)

Yes she was an animal rights activist, but we should honour the dead by highlighting *all* their activism. Bardot faced French courts five times and was convicted on each occasion for “incitement to racial hatred”, and she called Muslims “invaders” who are “destroying us, destroying our country”.

Some of these WCQ ties have been quite brilliant – one of the best weeks in calendar living up to its reputation. DR Congo, an enigma for so long, have outplayed a woeful Nigeria and deservedly won on penalties to reach March play-offs. Should be favoured to get through what will be a real mixed bag

They didn’t just NOT give Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, they wrote a citation that reads like an anti-Trump rallying cry.

(He’s gonna extra-tariff Norway now, isn’t he?)
'When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognize courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist,' the Norwegian Nobel Committee said as it announced Maria Corina Machado as the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize

These new images of the total obliteration of whole areas in Gaza are beyond words. You can see why Israel has prevented international journalists entering Gaza to report on these indefensible scenes.

This is not a genocide that can still be prevented. That threshold has already been crossed. What remains is a long trajectory of harm — one that will unfold long after Israeli military attacks are over and even if humanitarian and medical aid begins to flow freely.

It is impossible to read the calculations made by Israel’s own bureaucratic occupation authority about the calories needed and its records showing calories allowed in without think about Eichmann.

This is premeditated torture and murder on a mass scale.

40 years ago — as we are being shown on various retrospectives on TV and print media — the West galvanised/was shamed to tackle famine in Ethiopia. 40 years on similar horrible famine-like images from Gaza but response and tone has been strikingly different.

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD PAY CARE WORKERS MORE!

But peddling the line that paying care workers more will magically eliminate our need for immigrant care workers is RACIST NONSENSE.
