Since I have a big crop of new followers: Hi! I'm Abby! I write about movies and sometimes other things. I went viral once for posting a photo of an Abe Lincoln impersonator. I wrote a book that just came out, and you should read it!

ETERNITY is sweet and all, but it really feels like someone wanted to remake Defending Your Life, but then saw Eternal Sunshine and went "Ooooh."

It's cute, and it has some good jokes, but there's not an original bone in its body.

I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

This week, Reuters reported that USCIS has ordered a "review and re-interview" of all refugees who entered the U.S. under Biden's Refugee Admissions Program. This is targeting (obviously). It is illegal (blatantly). Contact your reps.

THE THING is a movie for the depths of January, when a series of below-freezing cold fronts and fully unwelcome snowstorms has left you stuck inside for days with no end in sight.

A Sarah Archer episode of @yourewrongabout.bsky.social is like getting a surprise visit from your cool aunt. Needless to say, I'm hyped.
Santa Claus temporarily stopped whittling by candlelight and embraced a space age vision of the future during the Cold War. Why? I joined @yourewrongabout.bsky.social to investigate. We talked aluminum, NORAD, department stores, Charlie Brown and The Grinch: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/y...

In my 20s, I frequented Lawrence's Burger Stand, where you typically have to use a weird order name to hear it over the crowd when it's ready. My go-tos were MST3K names because picking up an order for "Rowsdower" or "Big McLargeHuge" always got a laugh from our regular server.

This is a real bummer. Kier was one of those guys who made everything he was that much better. You could always count on him being interesting.
so sad to hear Udo Kier has died. one of the great working actors, and i was so happy to be reminded at TIFF, seeing him deliver a pretty astonishing little performance in The Secret Agent.

In my 20s, the price of admission to a party was a sixer or a bottle of wine. Now, in my 30s, it's toys and/or books for my friends' kids.

My party schedule is...different now.
