I guess they could’ve just called this one “Knamor-ed” or something.

Drew Struzan…. May he rest in peace. What a gift his work has been to the world. Similar to the influence Moebius had… in the way their work became icons of culture.

X-men: Age of Revelation Overture variant cover… by me, colors by Marte Gracia.
Oh boy. 12 years of love. A few days ago our boy Oscar seemed happy healthy goofy and good… all systems normal.
Within 48 hours he went from all-good to not eating, not getting up. We found out he was dying of cancer. He is gone and so fast… our hearts are broken. Hugs your fur-babies right now.

Sometimes… being a pro means reading less than favorable reviews, while they praise the writer or colorist for things you made happen.
The artist doesn’t just “draw the words”.. they interpret the script, they give guidelines to the colorist for certain story beats.
Sometimes though, ya never win.
