The war will end when Russia stops fighting. Therefore, pressure has to be put on Russia, so that they stop believing that they will win. Why is that so hard to understand?

Jacob Rees-Mogg like Rishi Sunak has registered all his assets in tax havens, because they don't 'belong' to him in the UK they aren't taxed here.

So his tax bill is negligible, he doesn't need to leave to dodge tax.

This con needs to be stopped.

Sir John Major: “Brexiteers predicted other countries would follow their lead and leave the EU. None have. All saw only too clearly that Brexit was packed with disadvantages. As we meet nine further nations now wish to join, which is an apt comment on how the world saw Britain's decision.

John Major is well and truly to the left of Kier Starmer now
John Major, "Our links to Europe and America may be loser now than once they were and that is a loss"

"The loss of trade with Europe alone costs us £100 billion of lost trade every year"

"That's a tax yield of £40 billion"

"How useful would that have been in recent months to the Chancellor?"

London is a place where people of every creed, colour and culture live together in peace and mutual respect. A city where a council estate kid with immigrant parents can become Mayor.

That’s the reason some don’t want our modern, multicultural, progressive metropolis to succeed.
'London is world's best city - people claiming it's lawless hate its success'
'The fact that London has again been crowned greatest city in the world disproves everything our critics claim, and they can’t stand it', the London Mayor Sadiq Khan writes

We can change that today!

According to @arusbridger.bsky.social, he was just the bagman for the purchase of the Jewish Chronicle.

Interesting comparison. Brexit was the raising of non tariff barriers, leaving the EU's Single Market and Customs Union, and, to a first approximation, unchanged terms with the rest of the world. It was done in a relatively orderly, legalised fashion.
I wonder if the United States can learn anything from the last time a major industrialized country decided to isolate itself from the rest of the world?

Almost a decade after the Brexit vote, GDP in the UK is around 6-8% lower relative to peer countries. (Source: www.nber.org/papers/w34459)

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

Someone here told me the BBC should only report the truth.

Some reporting is just fact. X people died. A politician said this.

But often it means constructing a narrative. That’s why articles are called stories. That’s when it gets hard.
In a quarter of a century as a journalist, I have only tried to get as close to the truth as possible. Without wanting to get all postmodern about it, most news does not lend itself to obvious truths. Someone’s perspective is always missed. A stat is rarely the whole picture.
