worldbuilding-focused stories are, by starkly greater bulk over character-focused stories, utter dogshit because they think doing things like renaming months of the year to be more Flavorful is worth the book being half exposition, which is usually dry, because emotion is not part of storytelling :)

there are problems with taking real world conspiracy theories and pseudoscience and using them to write fiction. ive seen people react to "lizard people who secretly control everything" with "wow! thats not real, but it sure would be cool in a book" without looking into the origins of that concept
