I was a bit apprehensive since The Wailing didn't click for me, but I'm glad I gave this director a second chance.

DR2A starts tougher than DR1 or even DR2.

But then you gain a few levels, learn a few skills, storm through the dungeon, and keep the boss paralyzed while kicking his ass into oblivion.

I think a certain sense of risk vs reward was necessary to keep the concept interesting.

The game taught me to resist the urge to Alt-Tab by crashing. I decided to roll a new party to see what kind of shenanigans I can get away with.

I feel like adding meme weapons like a full-blown ballista and watching players deal 5x the amount of damage at the expense of having to deal with slow-ass attack speed.

I revamped the battle system, which allowed me to develop attack patterns instead of the old "strike once when the hidden ATB bar is filled".

Fast weapons now usually perform 2 weak attacks, while heavy weapons hit once for massive damage.

Still tweaking the overall flow.
