When you help preside over economic policy that is both inflationary and nonsensical and tell average Americans struggling with affordability that they should deal with it by finding a new place to live.
Bessent: "You know the best way to bring your inflation rate down? Move from a blue state to a red state. Blue state inflation is half a percent higher."

I said this in my most recent @theatlantic.com article: The lawmakers had to make that video because it's so likely that Trump is, in fact, giving illegal orders, as @gregsargent.bsky.social discusses here.
What's weirdly missing from coverage of the Dem video is any discussion of this Q: Is it reasonable to fear Trump is giving illegal orders, or not? The answer is, yes, of course it is.

On the boat bombings, for instance, evidence is extensive. Here's a look at it:

“European leaders, meeting today in panic mode, are paying a bitter price for their failure to seize the initiative. That is an indictment of their short-sightedness.”
The 28-point proposal being hawked around by America is so poorly put together, so vague, unbalanced and impractical that, in a more normal world, it would never have seen the light of day
Donald Trump’s peace plan would be bad for Ukraine, Europe and America
It is a sad mix of naked opportunism and strategic myopia

Yes.
As Ukraine marks Holodomor Remembrance Day, mourning millions of victims of Stalin's genocidal famine, it feels as though the Trump administration is happy to give Putin another chance to finish off what Stalin started. Europe should do everything in its power to help Ukraine & defeat Russia.

We do not welcome it. Finally, the Europeans need to find the courage to speak the truth.
We welcome the continued US efforts to bring peace to Ukraine.

The initial draft of the 28-point plan includes important elements that will be essential for a just and lasting peace.

We believe therefore that the draft is a basis which will require additional work.

This is not a peace plan. It is a proposal that weakens Ukraine and divides America from Europe, preparing the way for a larger war in the future. In the meantime, it benefits unnamed Russian and American investors, at the expense of everyone else.
