It feels as though we're living in a mockumentary. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

This is an actual quote from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to HuffPost reporter S.V. Dáte.
Exactly. No one builds a quarter of a billion dollar ballroom who doesn’t plan to use it. #Dictator #Trump
If you people think he’s leaving after 4 years, you are delusional.

Frogs in slowly heating water is a popular allegory for being unaware that you are being destroyed in an incrementally worsening situation.

But I'm drawing hope from the past week that we frogs may be a bit more aware of our situation than those allegorical frogs. #Hop

This was a comment to one of my posts on Threads: "Trump is not giving Argentina $40 billion. He's buying a private foreign army to attack us with."

20 paragraphs down in the NBC News story that broke the information that the administration is considering invoking the Insurrection Act is the report that Stephen Miller is driving the issue.
“Inappropriate” is what you call a child who is speaking too loudly. Marine Land is literally holding a gun to the heads of thirty animals and saying they’ll kill them if thy don’t get a government handout by tomorrow.

Save the whales!

You know what was weird last week? I didn’t see anyone fired for quoting words actually spoken by Jane Goodall.

Donald Trump shut down the government because he doesn't want you to have healthcare.

But this isn’t just on him. Democrats MUST use their leverage to protect our rights, but it can’t end there.

Schumer and Jeffries can’t just go on TV or write letters, they need clear demands. We need action now.

Again, Trump uses "Radical Left" for anybody to the left of Stephen Miller so when he issues executive orders around declaring the "Radical Left" to be "terrorists" we should not pretend he isn't targeting all political opposition, no matter how many times you throw trans people under the bus.
SCOOP: Federal workers are being told to blame democrats for the shutdown. At SBA workers got an email suggesting they set out-of-office replies blaming Democrats for the shutdown and at HUD internal systems have a pop-up blaming "the Radical Left."

Federal Workers Are Being Told to Blame Democrats for the Shutdown
Workers at one agency were given unhinged, partisan language to use when setting out-of-office replies.

Sadly, the world lost a great climate activist, conservationist and primatologist Jane Goodall. She was 91.

Trump just ordered the military into Portland, and he’s giving them the green light to use lethal force on American citizens.

Authoritarianism is an abstract concept but Trump is making its impacts real and tangible. Let’s be real about it: This is the beginning of dictatorship in America.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

the lesson here is that after January 6th there should have been a massive hunt for right wing domestic terrorism and their funders imprisoned and stripped of power. So if we manage to get through and overcome this; there cannot be “return to normalcy” without consequences being paid for this

If our Constitutional Right to Free Speech is lost, it’s over…

“You can call that free speech or not,” Trump said. “He was fired for lack of talent.”

Chairman of FCC had warned ABC of serious consequences, telling network “we can do this the easy or the hard way.”

If it has to be said aloud, yes.
A lot has been said about Charlie Kirk. Political violence and assassinations are never the answer. Condolences to his two children.

As for Kirk himself? Now he’s one of the good fascists.

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”
