Handing back student work that’s been written by ChatGPT with a 0 followed by the comment “This essay will never stand in authentic wonder before the Beauty of God’s creation.”

Today I had the best shopping trip I've had in ages. I found a White Stuff dress in my size in the charity shop, finally managed to get a Chanukah snowglobe (this was the third TK Maxx I'd searched), and picked up this year's Kevin & Katie in Aldi but didn't over-shop. I like days like that.

It's a bit annoying that I have a week off and all I can do with myself is go "flop". I have things I want to do but my brain just can't get itself into gear. It was lovely starting my week off with a visit from friends, although it has taken me 3 days to put the guest bed away.

Yes. He likes this blanket.

I would like to report the theft of my brand new blanket.

This is my blanket. I don't often make things for me, but I really liked this yarn and I'm really happy with how it made up.

On the plus side, I made myself a new lap blanket recently and I'm finally using it, and I can't believe how soft and warm it is. I was worried the yarn would be scratchy because it has silver thread in it, but it is lovely.

A brain like mine can be a strange thing to live with sometimes. This weekend one of my best friends and her chap came to stay. I love them and I love spending time with them, but my brain was on the verge of meltdown for much of the weekend and now they've gone I'm exhausted.

What the fuck is going on in DC today? It's all a bit bonkers.

Ugh, why is being organised so HARD? I've rearranged my spare room, wrapped a load of Christmas presents (remembering to photograph my handmade gifts before I wrapped them) and baked a loaf of bread. I love having visitors, but I hate that my spare room is my only storage so I have to empty it.

My living room looks a bit like some kind of afghan factory. There are crocheted blankets pinned out for blocking on every spare bit of floor. If I never make another one again, it will be too soon. My wrists and shoulders are destroyed. BUT ALL MY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS ARE MADE!

My local footpath actually goes through a housing estate but it looks like it's in the depths of a forest. I love it at this time of year.

Between the Tangerine Tantrum and Brexit, navigating what I can send where this year is an interesting* pasttime.

*really fucking annoying

I feel like time is running away from me because I have to get my festive crafting finished by the end of this week. Usually I'd have a couple more weeks to play with, and I have next week off to do my crafting. Oh well, I'll probably just use the week off to recover from this week.

Give me all the adulting points. I took enough painkillers to be able to take my rubbish out, and now the rubbish is gone, I've been able to load the dishwasher. I love my flat, but being on the top floor in a building with no lifts when I have chronic pain was probably not a good choice.

I'm thinking about a defunct bakery chain called Mountstevens, which was essentially a Westcountry Greggs IIRC, and how as much as I loved their products, you probably couldn't sell all of them now. I just can't imagine walking into a bakery and asking for "curry flaps".

I've just sent someone describe the effect of a horrible man on women as making them "drier than a tumbleweed convent" and I am definitely using that in future.
