A lot of things in my area suck but the Sedgwick County Zoo is based as fuck
Love to see the Sedgwick County Zoo putting out a good explainer on why GenAI slop videos of animals are a problem & how to identify them! It’s succinct, easy to read, and doesn’t shame people for not knowing better. A+ useful link to share with family and friends.

The Reality of AI Animal Content – Sedgwick County Zoo
If you spend any time on social media, you’ve probably seen them – bears bouncing on trampolines, apes caught on doorbell cameras, or “rescued” wild animals acting in ways that seem too good to be…

an absolutely wonderful piece that graciously reminds me of why kiryu and this series had such an effect on me, especially amidst my recent, increasing disappointment with it

the strongest thing a man can be is kind
For Yakuza's 20th, I wrote about how genuinely important a character Kazuma Kiryu is, someone who embodies the series' themes of a life well-lived and a deconstruction of toxic masculinity. And yes, how recent series decisions go against that breadth of character. www.inverse.com/gaming/yakuz...
20 Years Ago, Yakuza Introduced One Of The Greatest Protagonists Of All Time
Yakuza has gone from a niche crime series to one of Sega's linchpins, but during that meteoric rise was one constant, the unforgettable Kazuma Kiryu.

Yeah, I agree with this. Writers need to get paid; people subscribing to publications and websites is how that happens. And writers need to get work, so we share what we do in an attempt to try interest people. No apologies for that.
FYI this is an immediate block. You’re under no obligation to pay for my or anyone else’s work, but you won’t come onto my feed to complain about us earning a living.

One of the things I find most impressive with other writers/storytellers is when they’re able to make believable characters that fall so far outside my own internal logic. Like there’s a reveal late in S2 of The Leftovers (I stay on brand) that still knocks me for a loop because of this.

Streaming really is the worst version of watching things at home. You own nothing, the presentation is subpar, there are advertisements, and the price regularly increases.

I wasn't online yesterday so I'll just say today that Netflix suck so fucking bad. They are an enemy of cinema and of community. They have been since their "innovations" shut down video stores far and wide at the end of the 00s, and they continue to show their only interest is to consume film spaces
