But - the white tricorn ensemble is perfection itself!
Amanda Donohoe, in a scene from “Lair of the White Worm,” wearing an ivory and grey ensemble topped with a white tricorn hat.

Currently watching the 1958 BBC production of “Quatermass and The Pit.” For Americans with Roku, it’s streaming on the “Horror Classics Channel,” an off-brand App in the Roku streaming store. Free with ads.
Title image that reads “Quatermass.” Title that reads “The Pit.” Over it is the scrolling title “A serial in six parts by Nigel Kneale.” Closing credit card which reads “QUATERMASS AND THE PIT Episode 3 ‘Imps and Demons’ will be televised next Monday, 5th January at 8 p.m.”

Oh, you’re re-consigning the Doves Typeface to the Thames again?
Doves Type, recreated from printed examples and from over 100 pieces of original type mudlarked from the Thames.

For me, it’s the trademark lean. Here (from 1910) through his cameo in “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.”
Young Buster Keaton in 1910, showing his trademark lean to one side. Buster Keaton, in “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” once again leaning to one side.

In prehistoric times, there were cave paintings of pre-teens with bad haircuts. Parents hold on to such embarrassing photos of their children and pull them out at appropriate times because, well…it’s our duty; it’s part of the job and the brief, passed down from time immemorial.
