I have been rejecting TTRPG clients who approach me for writing based on their use of AI art for the projects they want me to write for, and, on the couple cases where they look possibly misinformed, I tell them to look into getting free CC art and remixing it

I like Sanderson's lectures, but also think you are 100% on the money

genre ppl have to read history, science, economics, etc, to get a rich and highly-specific-to-them repertoire

It's why I keep nonfic in the mix regularly, doesn't even have to be whole books if time is short (as a parent: it is)
