Israel has continued to illegally intercept vessels from the Sumud Flotilla.

As Canada says it's “not able to guarantee the safety of Canadian travelers, or to provide them with security and protection abroad," the people are defending the flotilla.

Protests are sparking around the world:
Exactly. I get frustrated when support groups get pushed on new patients with no context or preparation. Yes the support is incredible but there's an emotional cost to constantly losing people.

LifeLabs workers are on strike in BC, resulting in rotating lab closures. I have to go to the lab often and offer the following explainer in solidarity with the workers. #LifeLabsStrike🧵
The debates were a highlight for me. It was incredibly helpful to have a high-level, "what do these findings mean for patients" summary.

Plus - scientists can be FUNNY. Every comedian loves a good roast, and the best roasts come from a place of mutual respect, which was the case here.
I was impressed by the inclusion of financial and time toxicity in the discussion. It really feels like these aspects of treatment are becoming more understood.

And the level of granularity for biomarkers is astounding. Personalised treatments are already here and expanding their reach.
And hearing about new breakthroughs is always exciting. But as @narjustflorezmd.bsky.social pointed out in her presentation, what's statistically significant in a clinical trial isn't always meaningful to a patient, especially the increasing proportion of people being diagnosed under 50.
The training through the IASLC STARS PRA program has been invaluable. Being able to understand study results and all the different graphs - priceless.

But it's hard knowing that those graphs are made up of the lives (and, often, deaths) of patients like you. People you might even know.
Two weeks after the 2025 IASLC Targeted Therapies in #LungCancer Conference and I'm still processing everything.

Attending scientific conferences like the #TTLC25 as a patient and research advocate is a somewhat surreal experience. I feel both completely ignorant and exceptionally qualified.

When doctors suspect lung cancer, a biopsy is often necessary to confirm the diagnosis & determine the specific type of cancer. A biopsy involves taking a sample of cells to be examined under a microscope. This helps doctors understand the cancer's characteristics & plan the most effective treatment+

When OMB head Russ Vought talks about deliberate efforts to put federal employees "in trauma" and make them quit their jobs, he's talking about people like Michelle, recently fired by Musk/Trump.

Call the Bureau of Prisons (202)307-3198 Tell them to block moving trans women to men's prisons. Tell them the trans women will be raped to death, it is cruel and unusual punishment beyond their crimes.

NEW: On Section 504. "Attacks on any one group will be used as a wedge to attack all of us. You may not personally know any trans people, and you may even be uncomfortable with the idea ... but letting this attack go forward will eventually hurt you and the things you love, too." /1
Why are Republican states trying to overturn a pillar of disability rights?
They may not be successful in repealing Section 504 as part of the attack on treating gender dysphoria, but it begs the question of what they might come for next.

NIH indirects case update:

Hearing ongoing now, and I'll try to live tweet some notable exchanges.

Prior to more detailed arguments, Judge Kelley starts off with a few point questions to both sides:

"The silence with which many of us and our institutions are meeting this moment must be challenged" Thank you @jama.com for stating this. The earlier (and some ongoing) silence from academic organizations & institutions prior to the NIH cuts was deafening and disheartening. #standupforscience
