I have always worked in haunted buildings, and currently? I work at a puppet theatre in an old school building. There is backstage equipment that must have salt on all four corners, or it won't function correctly.

I love kids. I have two of them. They’re amazing. However, kids are the absolute least self aware, clumsiest little puffins on the planet.

Every year, all of the safety tips we see are aimed at trick-or-treaters behaving more safely around cars, and none of them seem to focus on how drivers should behave.

What if we changed that messaging just a little?

• Slow down! Nowhere you have to be is more important than someone's life.

• Observe all signs and signals. Come to a full stop at stop signs & red lights.

Halloween is the single most dangerous day of the year for children pedestrians. You can help change that.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

When a chatbot gets something wrong, it’s not because it made an error. It’s because on that roll of the dice, it happened to string together a group of words that, when read by a human, represents something false. But it was working entirely as designed. It was supposed to make a sentence & it did.
