A fabulous opening of the fiber arts show at Arts Center East in Vernon, CT yesterday! I have these two pieces in - Antique Moon and Cicada New Moon. The whole show is incredible an it is up till 3/29. You should go see it.

The artist, Rachel Sclare, stands beside her piece Antique Moon. The piece is a large circular weaving with assorted cream colors of highly textured fabrics many of which are antique tablecloths. The artist has dark purple curly hair, black cats eye glasses, a black mask over nose and mouth; she is dressed predominantly in black, with a black, silver, and gold vertical striped button down shirt, and is using a turquoise colored cane.

The artist, Rachel Sclare, stands beside her piece Cicada New Moon. The piece is a an arch shape woven with highly textured art yarn in many shades of blue, teal, turquoise, and green swirling around a black and dark purple moon. The artist has dark purple curly hair, black cats eye glasses - her eyes are comically wide as she made a silly face for the picture, a black mask over nose and mouth; she is dressed predominantly in black, with a black, silver, and gold vertical striped button down shirt.

This guy (in the first photo). Joey Marsocci - @grymmstudios. I love him so much. He created something truly magical. An exhibition that recognizes the human spirit - transformation from trauma; transformation that occurs not only by creating art, but by creating community and connection.

Man, this is a pretty fucking gross move from Amazon, huh? Good on @bookshop.org for not mincing words, though:

Every April, we celebrate Independent Bookstore Day to remind us how vital indie bookstores are to our communities and society. It’s a day of joy and solidarity, and significant financial impact for these bookstores.

This year, Amazon is undercutting that with a “Book Sale” on the same day—a calculated move by a company that has already put half the bookstores in the country out of business, controls over 60% of the market and sells far more books than all indie bookstores combined. The people at Amazon responsible for the timing of their "Book Sale" should be ashamed, but they are shameless.

Today, Minnesota republicans proposed a bill stating that "whoever knowingly manufactures, acquires, possesses, or makes readily available to another mRNA injections or products" can be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
