nobody surprised by the stuff coming out of the labour party conference , surely.
they've taken the saatchi and saatchi slogan, uk circa 1979, and made it their aspirational goal.

zero visitors/ interruptions all day, not a hint of road noise from the distant state highway, no traffic up the right of way..
made me nostalgic for lockdown. i could do 6 weeks of this, easy

if successful at the next election- not a sure thing even now- labour could put up a list of all the current coalition's policy's that they will endorse in their first 100 days.
The people: ‘can we have pay equity?’
National: No.
Labour: No ❤️ ✨ 🌈
Chris Hipkins will not say whether Labour will commit $12.8b to restore pay equity.

somebody line up a job as a deputy principal for hipkins somewhere and do us all a favour pls.
Consistent with the Andrew and Ben show supporting Ray.
can labour kick hipkins already lol

like... he's been more supportive of ACT and NZF MPs than this

AND we're well past the point where Labour should be kicking itself in the face over this stuff - Wood, at the very least, has done his time

i'm replacing some large single glazed sashes in an old villa with new double glazed ones. if the original joiner was the same age as me when he made the original sashes he would have been born in 1848..

democratic expression scares the shit out of these ppl
In a way it's kind of funny that the govt thinks it's ok to just, immediately after local body elections, announce that the regional govts we voted for are for the chop, and the people we elected as city and district mayors are going to have different jobs to the one we just voted them into.

idly wondering if duncan, who is retiring from politics, is doing this because he no longer has to appease hipkins.

i'd be more excited if the nice left wing guy decided to run for a left wing party i guess

There is a strategy and it's becoming clearer. if labour have their way they will diminish the green vote, allowing nz first, their prefered coalition partner, to have more leverage.
As a BHN watcher and huge fan of yours, I'm VERY disappointed you have chosen to run against an incumbent Green MP. This electorate choice is NOT a good strategic move, you don't need to be going against those who would be your coalition partner. Kenepuru or Kapiti would have been better options

gf's conservative, catholic father came home from work at the railways joinery workshop, chch, years ago in a happy mood. said he had a visitor, seemed familiar but couldn't place her. then she told him ' I was John, your apprentice'. then he clicked. 'so nice of her to come and see me.'

Has anyone even noticed that, in the current framing of a Peace Plan for Ukraine, Europe has been given the same role as Namibia or New Zealand (i.e. none)? This is the price Europe is paying for being Washington's lackeys for so long: utter irrelevance www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...

It is unclear if Trump administration backs deal that would mean Kyiv giving up territory and slashing size of military

more innovation lol. less costs lol. like getting rid of the requirement for treated timber to be used in house framing, that sort of innovation/ cost saving. that went well didn't it. ( actual cost of H1 treatment at the time was $70 a cu/m). your builder would have spent more on biscuits at smoko.
Not content with teeing up a new generation of leaky buildings, the Minister wants to de-fund BRANZ and have more centralised political control over who gets funded to do research on buildings. More public funding on the menu for our private sector donor mates boys!
A new release is available from Hon Chris Penk.

laying out a template for hipkins
Not Andrew Little hyping up National Government transport nonsense two days in a row 🙄

Did he forget that his Labour Party mates had already planned for better ships delivered sooner? This is the cheap and dirty downgrade mate.

And no alt text on his images 🙄
