📣📣📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: More investment for Wellington! The government's announcement of some upgrades to the Wellington Interislander dock, along with confirming the two new rail-enabled ferries, will cement Wellington's role as the main sea connection to the South Island for decades to come 🛳️

The big news today is Waka Kotahi's announcement about doubling the Mt Vic and Terrace tunnels. Wellington hasn't gotten our fair share in recent years and I welcome the $3.8 billion investment. I also have some concerns, so I'm asking you to engage in the consultation now 🚗🛣️

I’m committed to Wellington City rebuilding a serious and professional relationship with central government, regardless of who is in power. I appreciated Local Govt Minister Simon Watts prioritising meeting with me, and we’ve agreed to ongoing engagement to make things better for Wellingtonians 💛

It seems most of us have gotten through the worst of the weather, but there's still disruptions, and care is still needed. Thanks to everyone who heeded the warnings and checked in on vulnerable people in our community, the emergency workers, and the affected businesses 💛

When you do an honest day’s work the least you should expect is to come home to your family at night. So many Wellingtonians have come out tonight to stand with Anna and Sonya for that principle at the premiere of ‘Pike River’ and I really appreciate it ❤️
