I genuinely think that "unalived," and "grapist" and similar words are a symptom of a society so dedicated to avoiding the process of "dealing with negative feelings" that it can only be described as "self-lobotomizing."

It's not even infantilizing. At least infants cry when they feel bad.

I genuinely think it reduces our ability to take things seriously, it turns death and murder and rape and genocide and molestation into cute terms - even if we know the real meaning, they're cutesy and sly getarounds which i'd venture must impact our perceptions of the uncensored topic

The words we use MATTER. They actually affect our perceptions! They have connotations and meanings that influence how we feel, it's the difference between "hi daddy" and "Greetings, Father." It's impossible for "unalive" to not do the same to "Die."

The only reason I draw the differential is that feelings that end up structured like that second sentence are the ones that tend to get me really down on myself, and honestly feel more frustrated. The "I could have done this differently and didn't" is the impulse that gets me to drop games sometimes

I think to some extent, your first statement is implying blame towards the game that isn't there when isolated to just that sentence. That alone isn't, like, blaming the game, it's just stating the circumstances. Someone ran out of beads and it frustrated them.

you're not wrong, it's just odd to me that both times it was an extremely notable in the plot electric type trainer. i'd be more willing to be neutral if streamers just generally existed, but canari and iono both feel particularly put at the forefront of their games in places.
