Bonus #ArtAdventCalendar post! Been doing what I call doodles a lot recently. I find them meditative and soothing in these troubled times. They don't always come out looking like anything in particular but that can be part of the fun.

As described this is my 8” x 10” print showing the centre of a purple echinacea flower. The centre of the flower is orange with black outlines and some yellow bits and occupies the lower right corner. Radiating out are several pink and violet petals. The background is green. On top of the centre of the flower is a transverse-banded flower fly facing the lower right corner. It is yellow and black striped with translucent wings and red-brown eyes.

The moongoats were painted at my kitchen table when I lived in a flat at the bottom of Leith Walk during lockdown of 2020. The moongoats were a source of amusing respite, a way to get out of my head and off of this planet.

Yes, I live in a concrete and glass tower that contributes to a dull grey urban landscape but I do my best to break it up with colourful flowers on my balcony. These morning glories break up the grey nicely.
