I received an "F" on my dental school paper for writing "the tooth fairy takes 'em while you sleep" and now I'm suing the school for religious discrimination

oh so it’s cool when a Mexican gray wolf does it but when I do it it’s an unfocused research agenda
Mexican gray wolf Taylor has yet again been spotted venturing north of the designated recovery zone, his third time since May. At this point, it’s clear he’s choosing his own path, and it’s time we let him roam freely.

Taylor the wolf keeps returning to Mount Taylor despite relocations
Mexican gray wolves are venturing north of their designated recovery zone, settling near Mount Taylor, about 90 miles west of Albuquerque.

It’s wild that right wing grifting is so easy that you can screw up your homework on purpose or tie for 5th place at a swim meet and get a whole ass career out of it

Like Riley Gains tying for fifth, this is a situation where a cis woman was graded based on the merits of their work but because a trans person was involved it is unfair that they didn’t win.

What's happening at OU right now also sets the scene for this kind of right wing activity by giving it cover.

Anyone know who did the chart? Tommy? Jeff Tyzik?
This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

It’s useful to think about things like this in numbers of tenure track professors.

$33M is 358 assistant professors. Or about fourteen percent of the total number of full-time faculty at Michigan State.
SOURCES: Michigan State is firing head coach Jonathan Smith, @theathletic.com has learned.

He went 9-15 in two seasons, including 1-8 in the Big Ten this year. (ESPN first reported).

MSU players meeting called for 2:45. Smith has a $33 million buyout (with offset).

What would be the funniest theatre kid turnover celebration?
Funniest part of an NFL football game is when the defense gets a turnover and very briefly the football team turns into the theatre club and they do their little performance they rehearsed that week.

Here’s the thing - Sen. Walker (who knows my sister and brother-in-law; they attended the same church for a while) got his position by defeating Sen. Bob Garton, an old Indiana Republican in the mold of Dick Lugar. This is not a “RINO” by any stretch of the imagination.
When an Indiana Republican calls redistricting “the president trying to save his own skin ..” 👀

My father, a man in his then-early-50s who got his GED in the Army and only watches war movies and westerns, once grabbed “The Gods Must Be Crazy” off a video rental shelf because…well, I still don’t know why.

It was his favorite movie for *decades*.

Browse. You learn things about yourself.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.

The fact that TPUSA posted the entirely reasonable comments from the instructor here as coming from the “TRANS PROFESSOR” gives away the game.

They’re not defending students, they’re targeting faculty — as always
idk not to mention how very nuanced and normal the actual response here was

“A man becomes preeminent, he’s expected to have enthusiasms. Enthusiasms, enthusiasms… What are mine? What draws my admiration? What is that which gives me joy? Baseball! A man stands alone at the plate. This is the time for what? For individual achievement. There he stands alone. But…”
